Description
Drug Uses
Avapro is indicated for treatment of high blood pressure. It may be used alone or with other blood pressure medicines. It is also used for treatment of kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.
How Taken
Avapro can be taken with or without a meal. Do not stop taking Augmentin without your doctor`s approval, even if you feel better. Consult your doctor regarding the dosage suitable for you.
Warnings/Precautions
Before taking Avapro, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances, if you have kidney function problems, low blood volume, or low blood sodium levels, if you are planning to become pregnant or are breast–feeding. Do not take Avapro after the third month of pregnancy. It may cause injury or death to the fetus. If you become pregnant, contact your doctor right away. It is not known if Avapro is found in breast milk. Do not breast–feed while taking Avapro. Some medicines may interact with Avapro, therefore tell your doctor of all prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement that you are taking. Patients who take medicine for high blood pressure often feel tired or run down for a few weeks after starting treatment. Be sure to take your medicine even if you may not feel “normal.” Tell your doctor if you develop any new symptoms. Avapro should not be used in children younger than 6 years old, safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Possible Side Effects
Some of the Possible Side Effects are– Anxiety, chest pain, diarrhea, dizziness, flu, headache, heartburn/indigestion, muscle injury, tiredness, muscle pain, nausea, nervousness, runny nose, sinus abnormality, sore throat, stomach pain, swelling, upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, vomiting. Contact your doctor if any of these or other side effects occur. If you experience any of the following serious side effects, you should seek medical attention immediately– allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue), chest pain, fast heartbeat, fainting.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 59 –86 °F (15 –30 °C), in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep Avapro out of the reach of children.
Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately. Some of the symptoms of Avapro overdose are– dizziness, low blood pressure, rapid heart beat, slow heart beat.
More Information
Avapro may cause dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Avapro with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. Do not share this medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other health conditions. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor.
