Description
Drug Uses
Frumil is indicated for treatment of high blood pressure or congestive heart failure. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Frumil as directed by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Frumil with a meal. Frumil may increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dose before 6 pm.
Warnings/Precautions
Before taking Frumil, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if you have allergies to medicines, if you are allergic to any ingredient in Frumil, if you have kidney problems, diabetes, if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breast–feeding. If you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Frumil during pregnancy. It is not known if Frumil passes into breast milk. If you are or will be breast–feeding while you are using Frumil, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. Some medicines may interact with Frumil. Therefore tell your doctor of all prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement that you are taking. Do not take Frumil if you are also taking potassium. Potassium levels must be closely monitored in patients with kidney problems or diabetes. Do not use a salt substitute or potassium supplement without checking with your doctor. Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Frumil before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Possible Side Effects
Some of the Possible Side Effects are– nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, headache, or weakness. Contact your doctor if any of these or other side effects occur. If you experience any of the following serious side effects, you should seek medical attention immediately– dry mouth, vomiting, excessive thirst, unusual tiredness, unusual muscle weakness, or slowed heart rate. If you notice any unusual effects, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
Storage
Store Frumil at 77 °F (25 °C), excursions permitted to 59 to 86 °F (15 to 30 °C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Frumil out of the reach of children.
Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately. Some of the symptoms of Frumil overdose are– nausea, vomiting, weakness, and lightheadedness.
More Information
Frumil may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may worsen if Frumil is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Frumil with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Frumil should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
